The Department of Economics, established in 1990, is one of the oldest departments of ICS College. Department offers a 3-year integrated B.A. programme in economics with total of 06 papers spread across six semesters.
Department also offers 04 papers of Economics for the B. Com. Programme.

Introduction:-

Economics is a great subject to study for number of reasons. Economics provides us with skills and knowledge that can be applied to a number of industries. Economics is backbone of every country. An Economics job mainly involves assessing the financial records and the accounts of the company. By doing the same they are able to help and check if the business is doing well. In fact as long as there is business in the world, business economics are always needed. Every business industry or sector needs study of Economics/Business Economics.

Department of Economics is one of the key departments under the faculty of Arts and Commerce. This Department was established in the year 1990.Presently the subject of Business Economics is taught in all three years of bachelor of commerce (B.Com) Programme.

Vision: – To motivate the rural students to learn daily life Economical concept as in

Education and to contribute to the nation building.

Mission: – To educate the rural students to take up Economics as one of the

Subject for career, which in turns empowers them in the future.

The Department is functioning with the following Objectives:-

• To give in-depth knowledge of Economics.
• To equip students with skills and knowledge in the use of the economic theory and practice in the year ever evolving job market.
• To determine the most logical and effective use of resources to meet private and social goals.
• To make the students take up new business challenges.
• To inculcate sense of belongingness to the society.
